We are excited to announce that Kuraray continues to make significant strides towards sustainability. Our already low CO2 footprint has decreased further, with the following data illustrating this positive trend:

LCA Assessment for KURARAY POVAL™

  • 2018 (calculated 2021): 2.47 kg CO2
     
  • 2021 (calculated 2023): 2.43 kg CO2
     
  • 2022 (calculated 2023): 2.41 kg CO2
     
  • 2023: (calculated 2024): 2.36 kg CO2
     

Kuraray has conducted a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for its KURARAY POVAL™. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) products manufactured in Frankfurt, Germany. Using the cradle-to-gate approach, the assessment shows that the “total climate change” value for 1 kg of KURARAY POVAL™ is 2.43 kg CO2 equivalent for 2021, 2.41 kg CO2 for 2022, and 2.36 kg CO2 for 2023.
