Kuraray offers ultralow MeOH containing PVOH product line to the market
Methanol is a commonly used solvent in the production of polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). All PVOHs in the market contain a certain amount of residual methanol as part of their volatile content. The normal specification for residual methanol content of Kuraray Poval™ is below 3 wt %. Upon request from customers we can offer product with a residual methanol content below 1 wt %.
At Kuraray we have been studying ways to reduce residual methanol and today we are pleased to announce the launch of a new product, Kuraray Poval™ 22-88 LV. The specification for this new products gives a “residual methanol content below 0.1 wt%” by using specially developed technology.
